DIY Wine Bottle and Glass Caddy

Hey guys, I’m back with another project in the 2-hour project series.

This time we made a Wine Bottle and Glass Caddy.

It’s a super easy project, which can be done with limited tools and without using a planer or a table saw (or any big tools).

How to build the DIY Wine Bottle and Glass Caddy

Step 1: As the first step, we made the vertical pieces for holding the container. We took 4″ (wide) x ¾” (thick) sized lumber and made two 12″ x 4″ x ¾”  pieces on the miter saw. The curved part in the plan is achieved in a later step.

Step 2: Then, we made a piece for the base at 13-½” x 3-½” x ¾” size using the same 4″ x ¾” lumber..

Step 3: Then we made two pieces for the sides at 5″ x 4″ x ¾”  size again using 4″ x ¾” lumber.

Step 4: Next, we had to make the top of the vertical piece circular. So we drew a circle at the top with a diameter of 4 inches. Then we used the jigsaw to cut out the excess outside the circle to make the vertical piece circular on one end.

After this, we had to make the hole for the rope to hold the Wine Caddy in the separator Piece.

Step 5: Then we had to make the slatted horizontal pieces for the front of the Wine Caddy of size 15″ x 1-¼” x ½”  size. We made six numbers of such pieces.

Step 6: At this point, all the component pieces for the Wine Caddy were ready. So we sanded all the pieces thoroughly, sanding progressively from 120 grit to 220 grit.

Step 7: Next, we marked the locations for fixing the vertical pieces as per plan. Each slot will have 4″ x 3-½” size for holding the wine bottle. The separators are fixed on the base piece at 4″ from each side piece.

Step 8: Now we had to put together all the pieces.

Then we went on to fix the side pieces to the base piece as per the plan. We applied glue on the sides of the base for fixing the side pieces. We used a Nailer to fix the pieces together after applying the glue. We used 1-¼” nails for the entire build.

Step 9: Then we fixed the separator pieces at the locations marked earlier using wood glue and nails.

After this, we fixed the slats on the front side of the Wine Caddy.
